Unicyclist

She wanted to be brave. Everyone assumed she already was. Heights were universally frightening, so by default she was brave. The truth was she never feared heights. She never fell from a tree that she climbed, or a step ladder or balcony. If you were calm and collected, the ground wasn't going to rush towards you to pull you down. With purposefulness she would make a clear decision before taking to heights. She had already outweighed the risks before she took her first steps, or pedals. She knew she wouldn't fall. She knew because she knew how she was going to die, and it wasn't from falling from a great height. It had been revealed to her in a dream, and she very much believed its prophesy. She had many more years and more tight ropes to cross before then. Her trusty little one wheel would do its job and she would do hers. She would have to be brave when old age and aching bones would come for her.
